Marta Blázquez, Young Talent Award at the

13th World Ham Congress

At Ibéricos Torreón, we're celebrating. And for good reason: our Production Director, Marta Blázquez, has been honored at the XIII World Ham Congress with the Interham – Jamón Lovers award for "Young Talent."

This recognition, presented during the XIII World Ham Congress held from April 28 to 30 in Granada, is an initiative by ANICE and FECIC to highlight technical knowledge and the quality of cured ham at an international level. For our company, this award holds special meaning because it acknowledges a career that, though young, is making a real impact on the sector.

Upon receiving the award, Marta Blázquez emphasized that "beyond the recognition, this award highlights the role of young people in family businesses and in the sector: a generation that embraces the legacy with responsibility and the ambition to promote and grow it."

Third Generation: Passion and Technical Rigor

Marta represents the third generation of Torreón. At 30 years old, she is not only the present of the company but, to a large extent, the guarantee of our future. Her daily life is intense and multifaceted:

Operational Management: As Production Director, she leads the operation of our plants with the highest standards.

Agricultural Development: She is deeply involved in the field, with several ongoing projects to continue evolving the product's origin.

Innovation: She is co-founder of San Martín Ibéricos, a personal venture to bring charcuterie closer to new consumption habits through modern and dynamic formats.

A World Congress of Notable Names

The 2026 edition of the World Ham Congress aimed to highlight the different facets that make this sector great. It is a source of pride to see Marta Blázquez's name as "emerging talent" alongside recognized professionals and entities such as Alejandro Miguel and the Cooperativa del Valle de los Pedroches (Professional Career Awards), Juan José Córdoba (Scientific Career Award), Anvisa (Auxiliary Industry Award), and the heartfelt posthumous tribute to José Ramón Velasco, founder of Eurocarne magazine.

For the entire Torreón team, this award reinforces our way of working: combining family tradition with management based on excellence, rigor, and traceability.

Congratulations, Marta! For continuing to drive the Iberian sector with the same strength and vision as always.
