A few months ago, Jaime Obando, Managing Director of Panadería Obando, came to us with an idea we simply couldn’t turn down: a strategic partnership between companies that share the same values, including professionalism, innovation and a passion for exceptional products.
We were delighted to join the project and showcase our products alongside theirs and those of Quesería La Antigua at Salón Gourmets, one of Europe’s leading food and drink trade shows.
Visitors to our stand had the opportunity to taste one of our finest products: 50% Ibérico Breed Acorn-Fed Ibérico Ham.
Over the four days, we carved two hams weighing 8.5 kg each. Both were from the 2017 vintage and stood out for their exceptional marbling, developed through the pigs’ acorn-rich diet and the hams’ long curing process.
The tasting experience was made even more special by Raquel Acosta, an expert ham carver whose skill, enthusiasm and infectious energy kept everyone smiling throughout the event.
We also welcomed some very special guests to our stand, including Quique Dacosta, three-Michelin-starred chef with whom we collaborated on his project at the Mandarin Oriental Ritz; Samantha Vallejo-Nágera, MasterChef Spain judge and hospitality entrepreneur; and Juan Pablo Carpintero, reporter for the Spanish TV programme Aquí la Tierra.
It was an intense four days, with a constant flow of visitors that exceeded all our expectations after everything that had happened the previous year. At last, the hospitality industry seems to be recovering, gourmet shops are once again becoming key destinations, and exports are gradually returning to normal.
We ended this edition of Salón Gourmets extremely pleased and, above all, grateful to Obando and to everyone who came to visit us at our stand.
