More perfect pairings: Iberian ham and wine, an ideal couple

A few weeks ago we suggested several ways to combine a variety of wines with Iberian ham and other sausages . Today we have selected different wines to combine with other delicacies of the house such as shoulder, sausage, loin or morcón.

Iberian acorn-fed shoulder and Manzanilla

A bellota Iberian shoulder , slightly softer than ham but just as satisfying, benefits from the light and somewhat saline profile of a Manzanilla. This wine, with its freshness and marine touch, is the breeze that complements the Iberian shoulder perfectly.

Iberian acorn-fed loin and Rioja reserve

Iberian pork loin , with its firm texture and delicate flavour, pairs gracefully with a Rioja Reserva. The elegance of this wine, its balance between fruit and wood, and its persistent aftertaste, embrace the Iberian pork loin in a classic union.

Iberian acorn-fed sausage and Garnacha

Garnacha, with its aromas of ripe fruit and a light spicy note , aligns beautifully with the personality of Iberian salchichón . It is a pairing that celebrates life with every bite and sip.

Iberian Salchichón and Verdejo Wheel

Let's not forget the whites. Salchichón , with its more refined flavour, stands out alongside a Verdejo from Rueda, whose acidity and fruity notes provide a fresh and vibrant counterpoint to the experience.

Iberian morcón and sherry

A perhaps less conventional but surprisingly delicious pairing is Iberian morcón with a dry sherry. The complexity and intensity of the sherry, with its notes of dried fruit and a certain salinity, enriches the experience of morcón, a sausage with a deep flavour and dense texture.
