Last Saturday, September 8, the Casa Lis Museum Terrace in Salamanca witnessed a night that will undoubtedly remain etched in the memory of those who were lucky enough to attend. Ibéricos Torreón, with its dedication and passion for Iberian products, took its delicacies outside its home in Villares de la Reina to offer a unique cocktail that combined tradition, innovation and an unbeatable setting.
The result? An unforgettable event that sold out in just 48 hours. 50 diners enjoyed a tasting menu of 11 courses , all based on the most select cuts of Iberian pork. From the first bite, the care and creativity of our chef, Javier Fuentes, was evident. He not only delighted us with the best of Iberian pork, but also did so with surprising touches that paid homage to seasonal products.
The evening began with a private visit to the exhibition “Lis… a journey through time”, guided by Pedro Pérez Castro, director of the Casa Lis Museum, who took us through the history and art housed in this emblematic building. And if that were not enough, the night reached its climax during the fireworks that lit up the sky of Salamanca, at the very beginning of the patron saint festivities in honour of the Virgen de la Vega.
The menu left no one indifferent: 100% Iberian acorn-fed ham , Iberian acorn-fed sausages and perfect pairings with selected wines from the José Pariente and Prieto Pariente wineries. Each dish was a journey to the heart of our Iberian gastronomy, but with a modern touch that surprised all attendees.
For us, at Ibéricos Torreón, it was a real pleasure to take this experience outside our facilities. For two years we have been organizing our Iberian experiences in Villares de la Reina, where we teach our visitors everything that lies behind the curing process of our products, as well as the secrets to differentiate Iberian hams according to diet and breed. But this time we wanted to go further, and the magical surroundings of Casa Lis were the perfect setting for it.
